We all have our individual reasons for living in Pompano Beach: the weather, lifestyle, ocean, culture and more factor in to our decisions to make our homes here. While many residents view Florida as a place pretty close to paradise, it is not without its flaws.

According to a recent news article, Florida ranks seventh in the nation among states where couples are most likely to divorce.

According to U.S. Census Bureau data, the state where couples are most likely to divorce is Arkansas. However, the good news for the Razorback State is that it’s also highest on the list of places where people get married more than once.

Arkansas’s divorce rate, according to the Census Bureau: 4.8 per 1,000 people.

The number two state on the most-likely-to-divorce list is Nevada, a state many people probably would have pegged as the top divorce state. Although the Silver State is a popular destination for people eager to tie the knot, it’s not quite as divorce-prone as Arkansas.

Though Wyoming ranks just above Florida on the list, it has seen a decline in its divorce rate. If you look back at 1995, the divorce rate in the Cowboy State was a whopping 6.6 per 1,000 people. Today, that rate is down to 4.1 per 1,000.

It should be noted that Florida’s divorce rate is 4.0 per 1,000 people.

No matter where you live, divorce is a difficult emotional and legal process. While friends and family can help you through the emotional rollercoasters that can accompany a marital split, it makes sense to have at your side a family law attorney experienced in child custody and property disputes to help you navigate the legal issues in divorce.
