In the golf world, he’s a household name. But the Florida household Lee Westwood once shared with his wife Laurae will never be the same, according to news reports.
Laurae Westwood, 42, is asking for $65 million in court papers she recently filed north of Pompano Beach. Laurae claims Lee’s “misconduct” in their 16-year marriage resulted in their 2015 separation and their impending high-asset divorce.
The British pro golfer has an estimated net worth that equals that same $65 million amount. Westwood also pulls in about $6.5 million annually from product sponsorships, a recent news article stated.
He apparently denies cheating on his wife, but is now reportedly living with a 40-year-old model.
One of Laurae’s family members recently told a newspaper that “the whole thing is a mess.” Both Lee and Laurae “have made claims and it is unfortunately for the courts to decide how it ends up.”
The couple has two children: a son, 16, and daughter, 12. They live with their mother, who now resides in Scotland.
The family moved to Palm Beach Gardens in 2010, the news report stated.
The couple is scheduled to make a Palm Beach County court appearance next month.
In high-asset divorces such as this one, it is important to have an attorney experienced in collaborating with forensic accountants, property appraisers and other members of a professional team devoted to protecting your financial interests, your family and your rights.
